Aniska Tonge Crowned Miss Universe U.S. Virgin Islands 2018
Aniska Tonge was crowned as Miss Universe U.S. Virgin Islands 2018 on August 12, 2018. Aniska Tonge succeeds Esonica Veira as the new Miss Universe U.S Virgin Islands and will now represent the nation at Miss Universe 2018 wherein Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa will crown her successor as next Miss Universe.
27 years old, newly crowned Miss Universe U.S Virgin Islands, Aniska Tonge is currently working for the development of creative outlet programs and extracurricular activities for the youth in the USVI. The beauty queen is not a new face in the pageant industry, having competed erstwhile at Miss America 2013, Miss World 2014 and Miss Paradise World 2013 pageants. She is a postgraduate degree holder from Georgia State University.
U.S Virgin Islands has been competing at Miss Universe pageant since 1956 and has placed only once in the semi-finals in 1971 when Cherrie Raphaelia Creque was adjudged as the Top 15 semi-finalist.
