Tamaryn Green Crowned Miss Universe South Africa 2018
Tamaryn Green from Western Cape was crowned as Miss Universe South Africa 2018 during the 60th edition of Miss South Africa, which took place on May 27, 2018 at the Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria. She succeeds Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters as the new Miss South Africa and would now be vying for a back to back victory for South Africa at Miss Universe 2018 .
23 years old, Tamaryn Green hails from Paarl in the Western Cape, and is in her final year of medicine at the University of Cape Town.
The country holds the record of winning Miss Universe pageant twice in the courtesy of Margaret Gardiner (Miss Universe 1978) and Demi Leigh Nel Peters (Miss Universe 2017).
During the same event, the outgoing Miss World South Africa, Adè van Heerden crowned Thulisa Keyi from Eastern Cape as the new Miss World South Africa. Thulisa Keyi will now represent South Africa at Miss World 2018 wherein Manushi Chhillar of India will crown her successor as next Miss World.
