Jessica Tyson Wins Miss World New Zealand 2018
Jessica Tyson was crowned as Miss World New Zealand 2018 in the 47th edition of the Miss World New Zealand pageant, which took place on May 5, 2018 at Sky City Convention Centre. During the conclusion of the pageant, the outgoing Miss World New Zealand, Annie Evans crowned Jessica Tyson as the next representative of her country to Miss World. Jessica Tyson will now represent the country at Miss World 2018 hoping to succeed Manushi Chhillar as the next Miss World.
24 years old, newly crowned Miss World New Zealand, Jessica Tyson hails from Auckland and stands 1.73m tall. Jessica has been a renowned name in pageant town. Erstwhile, she has represented New Zealand at Miss International 2016.
During the same event, Natasha Unkovich was titled as Miss International New Zealand 2018 and Hayley Robinson was adjudged as Miss Grand New Zealand 2018.
New Zealand last placed at the Miss World pageant last year under the representation of Annie Evans, who was adjudged as a Top 40 quarter-finalist, alongside placing as Top 20 finalist at Beauty With a Purpose Fastrack Challenge and Top 24 at Sports Challenge. New Zealand has never won the Miss World crown yet, but has came closest to winning the Miss World crown in 1997 when Lauralee Martinovich finished as the first runner up.
