Cynthia Thomalla From Philippines Wins Miss Eco International 2018

Cynthia Thomalla from Philippines was crowned as Miss Eco International 2018 on April 27, 2018 at Cairo Opera House in Cairo, Egypt. Cynthia Thomalla succeeds Amber Bernachi of Canada as the new Miss Eco International.

Cynthia Thomalla is the last of the four beauty queens to compete under the Miss World Philippines Organization. Her victory as Miss Eco International 2018 follows the success of Teresita Winwyn Marquez, who won Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 and Sophia Senoron, who was crowned as Miss Multinational 2018.

In the final question and answer round, Cynthia was asked about the relevance of beauty pageants, to which she answered, “I think that the most relevant thing that beauty queens can add to the world is raising awareness on their own causes. For example, Miss Eco International is raising the advocacy of sustainable tourism and protecting the environment.

During the same event, Astira Vernadeina from Indonesia was titled as the first runner up, Kelin Rivera Kroll from Peru was adjudged as the second runner up, Glennys Medina Segura from Costa Rica was announced as the third runner up and Nguyen Thi Dung from Vietnam finished as the fourth runner up.

This year 52 delegates competed for the title of Miss Eco-International.
