Mia Pojatina Wins Miss Universe Croatia 2018
Mia Pojatina of Nova Gradiška was crowned as Miss Universe Croatia 2018 on April 18, 2018. Mia Pojatina succeeds Shanaelle Petty as the new Miss Universe Croatia and will now represent Croatia at Miss Universe 2018 wherein Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa will crown her successor as next Miss Universe.
During the same event, Danijela Galeković from Zagreb was adjudged as the first runner-up and Silvana Došen from Split was titled as the second runner up. Suzana Blažanović
and Zlata Stefanova finished as the Top 5 finalists.
The 22 years old, newly crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2018, Mia Pojatina has graduated from the Medical Diagnostic Laboratory in Zagreb. As the winning award of the pageant, Mia Pojatina also receives a four-year scholarship to the Zagreb School of Economics and Management or MBA studies worth 20,000 euros. Mia has already won two beauty pageants in Croatia, including the Miss Hostess title at the Croatia Open ATP tournament in Umag. Her leisure pursuits include playing volleyball and other sports.
Croatia last placed at Miss Universe pageant last year under the representation of Shanaelle Petty, who finished as a Top 15 semi-finalist. Croatia has been participating at Miss Universe pageant since 1977 and has placed thrice in the semi-finals in the year 2009, 2012 and 2017. The country is yet to win its first Miss Universe crown.
