Ashley Lashley Wins Miss World Barbados 2018
Ashley Lashley was crowned as Miss World Barbados 2018 on April 7, 2018 at The Barbados Concorde Experience. During the conclusion of the pageant, the outgoing titleholder, Jeaniva Strohensky passed on her crown to Asley Lashley as the new Miss World Barbados. Ashley will now represent Barbados at Miss World 2018 wherein Manushi Chhillar of India will crown her successor as next Miss World.
Ashley’s Beauty with a Purpose Project throws light on the impact of chronic non-communicable diseases. She is a known face in the pageant town. She has also won the title of Miss Teen Barbados formerly.
Barbados last participated at the Miss World pageant in 2014 under the representation of Zoé Trotman and would be returning to the pageant after a hiatus of three years. Barbados last placed at Miss World in 2008 when Natalie Olivia Griffith was adjudged as a Top 16 semi-finalist along with winning the subtitle of Miss World Talent. Since its participation at the pageant in 1974, Barbados is yet to win its first Miss World crown.
