Miss Universe 2018: Road To Crown!
Miss Universe 2018 will be the 67th edition of the Miss Universe pageant. During the conclusion of the pageant, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa will crown her successor as next Miss Universe. While the date and venue of Miss Universe 2018 is still undecided and only thirteen delegates have been chosen to represent their respective nations, there have been some ladies who have managed to gain the limelight.
The Kaleidoscope of Pageantry is here to talk about the early favorites for Miss Universe 2018, who have taken the pageant world by storm with their terrific performance in their national pageants and the activities they have been involving in post their crowning. So let us get started.
1. Philippines- Catriona Gray
A sash which has always been a force to reckon with in this last decade, Philippines has indeed made a very smart move by crowning Catriona Gray as the new Miss Universe Philippines. Her former Miss World stint, where she ended as a Top 5 finalist, adds another feather to her hat, besides her fierce body language and heart filled with conviction. In addition to being a wise speaker, she is a performer and has extraordinary graceful stage presence. She is definitely going to up her game at Miss Universe 2018 and do not be surprised if she walks home with the crown of Miss Universe.
2. France- Maëva Coucke
France had to wait for 63 years to win its second Miss Universe crown and it was worth the wait! After Iris Mittenaere was crowned as Miss Universe 2016, not only the pageant fans but the critics as well have started taking the sash of France quite sincerely. Maëva Coucke has been in pageantry since 2013 and she knows how to talk the walk and walk the talk! After impressing people with her phenomenal photo shoots and interviews, how can we not believe that France is yet again strong at Miss Universe pageant this year.
3. Venezuela- Sthefany Gutiérrez
Watch out for Venezuela this year, for this is the last time when Osmel Sousa will be pouring in all efforts to make the sash of Venezuela shine brighter than ever. Besides, Venezuela is Venezuela, you cannot take the sash casually after witnessing the exceptional training sessions provided to the representatives. Sthefany Gutiérrez, who is a law student, seems very well prepared and polished at the tender age of 19. If she continues to follow the footsteps of her predecessor, we might see Venezuela gleaming brightly in the finals of Miss Universe 2018.
4. Vietnam- H’Hen Niê
If you have witnessed the grand finale of Miss Vietnam 2018, no questions asked here, she deserves all the limelight she has been getting since her crowning. After many years, Vietnam has crowned a lady who can give other powerful sashes a run for money with her poise, fierceness and charm. H’Hen Niê is quintessentially a modern beauty queen who knows that her fame means a lot more than just a beautiful face and body. I definitely see placement on the cards of Vietnam this year, for H’Hen is very well prepared for the challenges to knock her door.
5. Belgium- Angeline Flor Pua
Since WME/IMG has taken over the Miss Universe pageant, we have observed that a contestant with an influential background and inspiring story definitely makes the cut in the finals. Angeline Flor Pua received massive backlash from her fellow countrymen, who questioned the crowning of a woman belonging from a different race and did not represent quintessentially Belgian beauty. However, Angeline dealt with her racist critics with poise and made place in the hearts of all pageant aficionados with her wise words during several interviews. If Angeline plays her cards well, pouring significant efforts, she could bring placement to her nation this year at Miss Universe.
6. Peru- Romina Lozano
Winning Miss Grand International title last year has given Peru a boost to prepare its candidates well. Romina Lozano since her crowning has come up with various exciting interviews and photo shoots. She is photogenic and has an alluring persona to leave a strong impression. Till now, she is on the right path.
