Miss Universe pageant is one of the most observed, watched and loved pageants in the entire world. The enthrallment of pageant aficionados begin right a couple of months before the Miss Universe pageant kicks off and ends never really! Throughout the year, we keep a check on the representatives who are crowned to compete in the upcoming edition of Miss Universe and post the pageant we all gasp admiring the gorgeous evening gowns displayed during the finale and aura created by the beauty queens magnanimously on the stage. Then why not to begin the voyage down the memory lane!

Today we are going to talk about the Miss Universe titleholders who have lucratively managed to create an everlasting impact even after their reigns have come to an end.  These ladies have proved that with or without the crown they are the queens! So let’s get started!

1. Pia Wurtzbach- Miss Universe 2015 (Philippines)

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach

Tell me to write a book on this beauty queen and I will go on and on! Pia Wurtzbach is a quintessence of perseverance, hard work and determination. She failed thrice to succeed once and in that one time, she not just won the crown but hearts of million people watching her across the globe. She is one of the best Miss Universe we have ever witnessed in this decade.

Pia Wurtzbach was just another hopeful beauty queen when she decided to join Binibining Pilipinas 2013. After the vava-voom swimsuit and evening gown performances, she ended up as 1st Runner Up at the pageant. The lady did not give up her fortitude as she came back in Binibining Pilipinas 2014 where she could not advance to a greater level, thereby ending only as a Top 15 semi-finalist. To restore her glory, grace and esteem Pia returned in Binibining Pilipinas 2015 wherein despite of her out of shape body, she won the crown on the basis of her smashing rampwalk and luminous gaze! Her struggle did not end here as she became the victim of social media trolling soon after her crowning because of her out of shape body. Even her own fellow countrymen believed that their country has made a mistake crowning her for a pageant like Miss Universe. Despite of all the backlashes she received, she continued to work on her dream and finally left for the Miss Universe pageant.

Pia as usual yet again faced another thorn in her way as she could not get her best fitted evening gown right before the Preliminary Competition.  The wardrobe mishap could not stop the queen from giving a terrific performance as she strode the stage in poise and dignity. Not only did she advance to the finale, but also gave a brilliant performance in all the rounds during the coronation gala, thereby fulfilling 42 years old dream of her country.

Next morning, after winning the crown, Pia Wurtzbach posted on her social media handle: “I used to sit and think in that exact same spot a few days before the competition wondering what it would be like to stay in that suite as Miss Universe.

Pia truly proves how it really is to be a beauty queen. Like she said, behind that beautiful gown, your knees might be trembling but never give up on your dreams! She is an inspiration to youth! Today, she is a part of many great modelling agencies and has been effectively living up to the brand she has created through her name.

2. Paulina Vega- Miss Universe 2014 (Colombia)

It is not easy to be a beauty queen and being a queen involves having a heart of gold rather than the expensive gown and lavish makeup. Ever wondered, what it would be like for Paulina Vega to cart off the crown from her fellow countryman and pass it own to someone else! In the world of beauty pageants we have seen many beauty queens bearing qualms while crowning their successor. How can we forget the distasteful crowning moment of Riyo Mori when Zuleyka Rivera was passing on the legacy to her!

Not only did Paulina console Ariadna about the mishap, but she also held Pia Wurtzbach with warm heartedness, congratulating her on the triumph, making sure that her crowning moment should not go dull and awkward. Soon after the crowning, Paulina gushed aside her cousin, Ariadna to the side, soothing her for the misfortunate event. Through these signs of a true beauty queen, Paulina etched her name in the hearts of million people forever.

3. Olivia Culpo- Miss Universe 2012 (USA)
