Martrecia Cherisse Alleyne Wins Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2018

Martrecia Cherisse Alleyne was crowned as Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2018 on February 3, 2018. She succeeds Yvonne Clarke as the new Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago and will now represent the country at Miss Universe 2018 wherein Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa will crown her successor as next Miss Universe.

The twenty years old beauty queen was adjudged as the first runner up at Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2017.

Trinidad and Tobago last placed at the Miss Universe pageant in 2006 when Kenisha Thom was adjudged as the Top 10 finalist. The nation holds the record of winning Miss Universe crown twice in the courtesy of Wendy Fitzwilliam, who was crowned as Miss Universe 1998 and Janelle Commissiong, who was crowned as Miss Universe 1977.
