Miss World New Zealand To Be Crowned in May
Miss World New Zealand 2018 will be the 47th edition of the Miss World New Zealand pageant, which is slated to take place on May 5, 2018 at Sky City Convention Centre. During the conclusion of the pageant, the outgoing Miss World New Zealand, Annie Evans will crown her successor as the next representative of her country to Miss World. Miss World New Zealand 2018 will then represent the country at Miss World 2018 hoping to succeed Manushi Chhillar as the next Miss World.
The registrations for Miss World New Zealand 2018 are now open and will close down on February 2, 2018. The contestants will then be shortlisted after the final screening, thereby competing with each other for about two months via various pre-pageant activities.
New Zealand last placed at the Miss World pageant last year under the representation of Annie Evans, who was adjudged as a Top 40 quarter-finalist, alongside placing as Top 20 finalist at Beauty With a Purpose Fastrack Challenge and Top 24 at Sports Challenge. New Zealand has never won the Miss World crown yet, but has came closest to winning the Miss World crown in 1997 when Lauralee Martinovich finished as the first runner up.
