Sarah Rose Summers Wins Miss Nebraska USA 2018
Sarah Rose Summers was crowned as Miss Nebraska USA 2018 in the coronation eve that took place on January 7, 2018. Sarah Summers succeeds Jasmine Fuelberth as the new Miss Nebraska USA and will now represent her state, Nebraska at Miss USA 2018, wherein Kára McCullough of the District of Columbia will crown her successor as new Miss USA, who will then represent the United States of America at Miss Universe 2018.
During the same event, Michaela Edstrand was crowned as Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2018, who will now go on to represent the state of Nebraska at Miss Teen USA 2018.
Nebraska is one of the least successful states at Miss USA, having only placed 10 times. They were most successful in the 1950s, placing 6 times, with three runner up placements. Their highest placement was in 1955 which was 2nd runner up under the representation of Donna Jo Streever. The state last placed at Miss USA in 2014 when Amanda Soltero was adjudged as a Top 20 semi-finalist.
