Geena Thompson To Represent Bahamas at Miss World 2017
Geena Thompson was crowned as Miss World Bahamas 2017 on July 30, 2017 at the Baha Mar Convention Centre. She succeeds Ashley Hamilton as Miss World Bahamas and will now represent Bahamas at the Miss World 2017 pageant, which is slated to be held on November 18, 2017 in China.
Geena Thompson battled out eight other contestants to claim the title of Miss World Bahamas. During the coronation gala, Sharonique Russell from Abaco was titled as the first runner up and Jerell Strachan from Grand Bahama was adjudged as the second runner up. Completing the top six finalists spot were Tanisha Jones, Nyisha Tilus and October Johnson.
Bahamas started participating at Miss World pageant in 2005. Braneka Bassett was the last woman from Bahamas to place at Miss World in the year 2010, wherein she was adjudged as the Top 25 quarter-finalist.
