Polina Popovam Crowned as Miss Russia 2017
Polina Popovam was crowned as Miss Russia 2017 on April 18, 2017. She succeeds Yana Dobrovolskaya, who represented Russia at Miss World 2016 pageant in United States of America last year. Polina Popovam will now represent Russia at Miss World 2017 and Miss Universe 2017.
This is the first time in the history of Miss Russia that a blonde woman has won the title of Miss Russia in last ten years. She hails from the Sverdlovsk Oblast region and battled out about 49 contestants to claim the crown of Miss Russia. The newly crowned Miss Russia was awarded a crown of white gold, decorated with diamonds and pearls worth a million RUB (£14,000) along with a bank card with 3 million RUB (£42,000) and a car.
For the third year in a row, the title of Miss Russia has gone to woman coming from the Urals Federal District. Being a multilingual, Miss Russia 2017 is well versed in Russian, Chinese and English.
Miss World 2017 will be the 67th edition of the Miss World pageant and is scheduled to take place in early December of this year in China. The reigning Miss World, Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico will be passing on her crown to her successor during the conclusion of the pageant.
