Laura González Ospina To Represent Colombia at Miss Universe 2017
Laura González Ospina was crowned as Senorita Colombia 2017 on March 21, 2017 in Hotel Las Americas. She succeeds Andrea Tovar, who was titled as the second runner up in the former edition of Miss Universe pageant. Laura González Ospina will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2017.
22 years old, Laura González Ospina is a model by profession along with pursuing her studies in Dramatic Arts. Born in Cali, the newly crowned beauty represented the city of Cartagena during the Senorita Colombia 2017 pageant. Standing tall at the remarkable stature of 1.77 meters and vital stats of 86-65-95, Laura is fond of singing and reading. She is well versed in English and French.
During the conclusion of the pageant, Yénniffer Hernández from Santander was crowned as the first runner up, Vanessa Domínguez from Bogotá was titled as the second runner up and Maria Fernanda Betancur from Magdalena was adjudged as the third runner up. This year 23 candidates vied for the title of Senorita Colombia.
The grand coronation eve was presented by Andrea Serna, Cristina Hurtado along with the actors, Carlos Torres and D’Alessandro. Miguel Bosé and Luis Fonsi were the special performers of the evening. The panel of jury included María Camila Carrasquillo from Puerto Rico, regional marketing director of Jarden Consumers Solutions; The Panamanian Miky Fabrega, creative director, artist and entrepreneur; Rodrigo Rivero, Mexican, passionate traveler, and Federico Uriarte, Peruvian lawyer.
Miss Universe 2017 will be the 66th edition of the Miss Universe pageant which is slated to take place in the latter part of the year. During the conclusion of the pageant, Iris Mittenaere from France will pass on her crown to her successor.
