Miss World 2016: “Beauty with a Purpose” Finalists Shortlisted!
The 66th edition of the Miss World pageant is slated to take place on 18th December 2016 at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States, Washington, D.C. During the conclusion of the pageant, Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain will pass on her crown to her successor.
With only two days left for Miss World 2016 finale, a pageant media named “OPMB Worldwide” released the list of semi-finalists for the most crucial segment of the Miss World pageant, the “Beauty with a Purpose” segment. The media website is present in Washington DC to cover the events and activities of Miss World 2016, hence it is quite possible that this rumoured list of contestants might be the actual shortlisted “Beauty with a Purpose” projects amongst 120 other projects of delegates. So let’s have a look-
- Cote d’Ivoire
- Dominican Republic
- Puerto Rico
- Sierra Leone
- Sri Lanka
The media also stated, “The top 10 will be chosen from among these countries. There were a total of 21 judges including previous Ms. World winners. There were very interesting videos that discussed different topics like education, malnutrition, genital female mutilation, equestrian therapy, music for blind children, child abuse, children with down syndrome, forest wild fire and many more. One particular country made some of judges cry and even us media who were there to observe the judging.”
While the interesting news seems to be true, the speculations will be clearer once the Miss World Organization will officially announce the name of semi-finalists shortlisted in the “Beauty with a Purpose” segment.
