Megan Gordon is Miss South Carolina USA 2017
Megan Gordon from North Augusta was crowned as Miss South Carolina USA 2017 on November 19, 2016 in Charleston. She succeeds Leah Lawson of Laurens, who was a Top 15 semi-finalist at Miss USA 2016. Megan Gordon will now represent South Carolina in the coming edition of Miss USA 2017, wherein Deshauna Barber of District of Columbia will pass on her crown to her successor.
Megan Gordon is a known face in the world of pageantry and holds several accolades in the same, in the courtesy of winning many beauty pageants since the age of 14. She has held several titles including Miss Collegiate America 2014 and Miss Southeast 2012. She was named Distinguished Young Woman of Aiken South Carolina in 2012.
The newly crowned beauty queen competed last year as well but could only finish as the first runner up to her predecessor, Leah Lawson.
South Carolina has three Miss USA crowns till date under the representation of Miriam Stevenson (1954), Shawn Weatherly (1980) and Lu Parker (1994). Despite of a terrific placement rate at Miss USA, South Carolina has not won the crown since last 22 years.
