Deanna Johnson Crowned Miss Georgia USA 2017
Deanna Johnson was crowned as Miss Georgia USA 2017 on November 19, 2016 at Henry County Performing Arts Centre McDonough, GA. She succeeds Emanii Davis and will now represent Georgia in the coming edition of Miss USA 2017, wherein Deshauna Barber of District of Columbia will pass on her crown to her successor.
During the coronation gala of Miss Georgia USA 2017, Brenda Smith Lezama from Golden Isles was titled as the first runner-up, Bailey Rogers from Northeast GA was adjudged as the second runner-up, Dala Hufstetler from Whitfield was announced as the third runner up and Erin O’Sullivan from Statesboro finished as the fourth runner-up.
At the same event, Taylor Ward was crowned as Miss Teen Georgia USA 2017. She will represent Georgia at Miss Teen USA 2017, whereby Karlie Hay of Texas will crown her successor.
Despite having a large number of runners-up, no Miss Georgia USA has won the national title. Last year Emanii Davis was adjudged as the second runner up at Miss USA 2016. Erin Nance came closest to winning Miss USA title back in 1993 when she was titled as the first runner up.
