Miss World 2016: Winners of Sports Fastrack Announced!
While only a week is left for the new Miss World to be crowned, we already have the name of first semi-finalist of the coronation gala. As announced erstwhile, this year the winners of various Fastrack events will get a direct entry to the semi-finals of the coronation gala of Miss World 2016.
Making the cut to semi-finals by winning the nerve wrecking Sports Round is none other than Natalia Short from Cook Islands. The sports round was held on December 12, 2016 in Washington DC, wherein Cook Islands emerged as the winner in all rounds making “Red Team” as the best one. During the same event, Angélica Zacchigna from Croatia was titled as the first runner up of Sports Fastrack event and Anthea Zammit was adjudged as the second runner up at the same.
Subsequent to winning the sports round, Miss World Cook Islands 2016 expressed her ecstasy at social media in following words:
“All Glory to the man above!!! I cannot begin to express how excited I am. Today’s sports challenge involved sprints, shot put, long jump and team relays. The red team spirit is sooo strong and I want to congratulate the girls on their efforts and their amazing team work. We did it ladies. Congratulations to Miss Malta in 3rd place, Miss Croatia for 2nd and first place goes to COOK ISLANDS! I honestly did not expect that but I am sooooo over the moon and grateful for all the support and the challenge. Today wasn’t easy. I am so honoured to represent the Cooks but to also have made the TOP 20 of the Miss World Final as the winner of the sports competition. God is Good!! Thank u you everyone back home for all your love and support.”

The 66th edition of the Miss World pageant is slated to take place on 18th December 2016 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, United States, Washington, D.C. During the conclusion of the pageant, Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain will pass on her crown to her successor.
