Mikaela Shaw Crowned Miss Wyoming USA 2017
Mikaela Shaw was crowned as Miss Wyoming USA 2017 on September 18, 2016 at the Casper Events Center. Mikaela Shaw succeeds Autumn Olson and will now represent Wyoming in the coming edition of Miss USA 2017, wherein Deshauna Barber of District of Columbia will pass on her crown to her successor.
Mikaela Shaw has represented Wyoming at Miss America 2016. As Miss Wyoming, her activities included public appearances across the state of Wyoming, including radio shows, schools, and local rodeos.
During the same event, Autumn Schieferstein of Cheyenne was crowned as Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2017. She will represent Wyoming at Miss Teen USA 2017, whereby Karlie Hay of Texas will crown her successor.
Wyoming is one of the least successful Miss USA states, having only reached the semi-finals twice, in 1986 and 2010. This state has, however, won three Miss Congeniality awards and one Miss Photogenic award.
