Soyini Fraser Crowned Miss Universe Guyana 2016

Soyini Fraser was crowned as Miss Universe Guyana 2016 on September 17, 2016 at the Grand Ballroom of the Guyana Marriott Hotel. Soyini Fraser succeeds Miss Universe Guyana 2015, Shauna Ramdehan and will now represent Guyana at Miss Universe 2016 pageant, whereby Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of Philippines will crown her successor.

During the coronation gala of Miss Universe Guyana 2016, Rafieya Aasieya Husain was adjudged as the first runner up. This year fourteen candidates vied for the title of Miss Universe Guyana 2016.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Guyana 2016, Soyini Fraser will also get a chance to walk at the World Fashion Show for Peace, which is going to be held at Gotham Hall, in New York on September 25, 2016. Guyana has been participating at Miss Universe pageant since 1956 and is yet to win its first Miss Universe crown.
