Ashlie Barrett Crowned Miss World Jamaica 2016
Ashlie Barrett, Miss French Connection Events was crowned as Miss World Jamaica 2016 on August 21, 2016 in Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort, Montego Bay. Ashlie Barrett succeeds Miss World Jamaica 2015, Sanneta Myrie and will now represent Jamaica at Miss World 2016 in United States in the coming December, hoping to succeed Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain as next Miss World.
During the coronation gala of Miss Jamaica World 2016, Whitney Levy, Miss S&G Road Servicing was titled as the first runner up and Milinda Smith, Miss Deja Resorts was adjudged as the second runner up.
Jamaica has been participating at Miss World pageant since 1959 and has a strong sash at the said pageant. Jamaica has won three Miss World crowns in the courtesy of Lisa Hanna (Miss World 1993), Cindy Breakspeare (Miss World 1976) and Carole Joan Crawford (Miss World 1963).
Last year Jamaica’s Sanneta Myrie was titled as the third runner up at Miss World pageant. Jamaica has placed twenty four times at Miss World pageant. What do you think about the chances of newly crowned Miss Jamaica World in the upcoming edition of Miss World?
