Christina Waage Crowned Miss Universe Norway 2016
Christina Waage from Auli, Kongsvinger was crowned as Miss Universe Norway 2016 on July 30, 2016 at Open Stage in Oslo.
Christina Waage succeeds Miss Universe Norway 2015, Martine Rødseth and will now represent Norway at Miss Universe 2016, hoping to be crowned by the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines.
During the coronation gala of Miss Universe Norway, Camilla Devik was crowned Miss International Norway 2016 and Yasmin Osee Aakre was titled as the first runner up of Miss Universe Norway 2016.
Norway has a decent record at Miss Universe pageant. Norway has placed 17 times at Miss Universe pageant since its participation and has one Miss Universe crown in the courtesy of Mona Grudt, who was titled as Miss Universe 1990.
Norway has two runner ups at Miss Universe pageant through Jorunn Kristjansen (Miss Universe 1959 First Runner Up) and Aina Walle (Miss Universe 1973 Second Runner Up). Norway last placed at Miss Universe in 2005 through Helene Tråsavik, who was adjudged as the Top 15 semi-finalist.
