Lizelle Esterhuizen Crowned Miss Namibia 2016
Lizelle Esterhuizen was crowned Miss Namibia 2016 on June 9, 2016 at the Windhoek Country Club. Lizelle Esterhuizen succeeds Steffi Van Wyk, who was the Sports Fastrack winner at last year Miss World edition.
Lizelle Esterhuizen will now represent Namibia at Miss World 2016 in United States in the coming December, hoping to succeed Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain as next Miss World.
During the coronation gala, Andeline Wieland was titled as the first princess and Varaakuani Hambira was adjudged as the second princess.
The grand finale of Miss Namibia showcased live music from NAMA award winner Ann Singer and South African singer George Longane. The coronation night was presented by ‘Katutura’ star, Chops Tshoopara.
Namibia is yet to win its first Miss World crown and holds the record of winning one Miss Universe crown through Michelle McLean, who was crowned as Miss Universe 1992.
