Katelyn Niemiec Crowned Miss Arizona 2016

Katelyn Niemiec from Scottsdale was crowned Miss Arizona 2016 on June 25, 2016. Katelyn Niemiec succeeds Madison Esteves and will now compete in the coming edition of Miss America 2017, hoping to be crowned as next Miss America by the reigning beauty queen, Betty Cantrell from Georgia.

Arizona has won the Miss America title twice. Jacque Mercer  was the first woman from Arizona to win Miss America in 1949. Thereafter, Vonda Kay Van Dyke became the second lady from Arizona to bag the title of Miss America in 1965.
