Grace Burgess Crowned Miss Tennessee 2016
Grace Burgess was crowned Miss Tennessee 2016 on June 18, 2016 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Grace Burgess succeeds Hannah Robison and will now compete in the upcoming edition of Miss America 2017.
Grace has competed for the Miss Tennessee crown for three years along with competing in in the teen pageant formerly. She is currently studying child development at the University of Memphis.
During the coronation gala, Caty Davis, Miss Chattanooga, was titled as the first runner-up, Meredith Maroney, Miss Tennessee Valley, was adjudged as the second runner-up, Christine Williamson, Miss Mountain Empire, was announced as the third runner-up and Jeanette Morelan, Miss Nashville finished as the fourth runner-up.
Barbara Jo Walker is the first Miss America from Tennessee. Barbara Jo Walker was crowned as Miss America 1947. Kellye Cash, Miss America 1987, is the second Miss Tennessee to win the national title.
