Kelly Koch Crowned Miss Iowa 2016
Kelly Koch was crowned Miss Iowa 2016 on June 11, 2016. Kelly Koch succeeds Miss Oklahoma 2015, Taylor Wiebers from Clinton, and will now represent Iowa at Miss America 2017 pageant, which is scheduled to take place on September 11, 2016 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
During the coronation gala, Miss Scott County, Johannah Vittetoe was adjudged as the first runner up, Miss Pearl City, Jessica Baker was titled as the second runner up, Miss Metro, Meredith Olson was declared as the third runner up and Miss Cedar Valley, Schunicht finished as the fourth runner up.
No contestant from Iowa has ever won the Miss America crown although two Miss Iowa titleholders have been named as first runner-up. Iowa last placed at miss America pageant in 2015 through Taylor Wiebers, who was adjudged as the Top 12 semi-finalist in the pageant.
