Allison Chu Is Miss Hawaii 2016
Allison Chu was crowned Miss Hawaii 2016 on June 11, 2016. Allison Chu succeeds Jeanné Kapela of Kailua-Kona, and will now represent Hawaii at Miss America 2017 pageant, which is scheduled to take place on September 11, 2016 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
During the coronation gala of Miss Hawaii 2016, Miss Kahala, Chelsea Clement was adjudged as the first runner up, Miss Diamond Head, Tésia Melani Worley was titled as the second runner up, Miss Kaka’ako, Hali’a Parish was declared as the third runner up and Miss Latina Hawaii, Tiffany Johnson finished as the fourth runner up in the competition.
Hawaii has won Miss America pageant twice in the years 2000 and 1991 through Angela Perez Baraquio and Carolyn Suzanne Sapp respectively. Hawaii last placed at Miss America pageant in 2010 through Jalee Fuselier, who was also titled as the second runner up in the same pageant.
