Karla De Beer Is Miss World New Zealand 2016
Karla de Beer from Auckland was crowned as Miss World New Zealand in Auckland on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Sky City Convention Centre. Karla de Beer succeeds Deborah Lambie and will now represent New Zealand in the coming edition of Miss World 2016.
Jessica Tyson was titled as first runner up and Cosmiana Brown was adjudged as second runner up.
Karla De Beer’s Beauty with a Purpose Project was New Zealand Riding for the Disabled: “As I love the outdoors and have a huge soft spot for horses, having ridden since I was 12. I have loved being a part of the Totara Park Riding for the Disabled club, getting involved with learning how to practically deal with the problems children with physical and mental disabilities face, and how to help them improve on the skills they need to overcome these difficulties.”
Last year, Miss World New Zealand 2015, Deborah Lambie, was a Top 20 quarter-finalist at Miss World 2015 held in Sanya, China on December 19, 2015. New Zealand has never won Miss World crown. Do you think that the current titleholder, Karla De Beer can write the history for the first time?
