Mai Ngan from Vietnam Wins Miss Southeast Asian 2016
Mai Ngan from Vietnam was crowned as Miss Southeast Asian 2016 on May 28, 2016 at Gedung Olahraga Kab in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. This is a back to back win for Vietnam, as Mai Ngan succeeds her compatriot, Thu Vu as next Miss Southeast Asian.
During the coronation gala, Cheryl Lynn from Borneo finished first runner-up and Nay Thiri Tun from Myanmar Nay was adjudged as second runner-up. Completing the Top 5 finalists spots were, Kimberly Tee from Philippines and Jane Wong from Malaysia. This year 8 countries vied for the title of Miss Southeast Asian 2016.
Josephine Tan, who was crowned as Supermodel International 2016 a month ago, was one of the special guests in the grand finale of Miss Southeast Asian 2016 pageant. The contestants were judged on the basis of four rounds, Best Model, Designer Dress, Multimedia and Talent Round.
The Miss Southeast Asian pageant is a beauty pageant created in 2013 by Miss Southeast Asian secretariat as an event to promote goodwill among Southeast Asian communities. Only Vietnam and Thailand have won this pageant till date.
