Luissa Burton Crowned Miss Earth England 2016
Luissa Burton was crowned as Miss Earth England 2016 on May 7, 2016 by the outgoing titleholder, Katrina Kendall. As soon as Luissa Burton was adjudged as the winner of Miss Earth England, people all across the globe started seeing a very strong crown contender of Miss Earth in the gorgeous beauty. She exhibits enchanting qualities to be crowned by Angelia Ong from Philippines as the next Earth Warrior!
This was Ford model, Luissa Burton’s third attempt for winning Miss Earth England title. Currently established as a distinguished model in England, Luissa is also an ambassador for the British Skin Foundation and a Red Ribbon Model for Positive Runway, campaigning against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
At the age of 16, she first walked for well-known British designer, William Tempest as part of London Fashion Week. She has also worked with celebrity hairdresser Lisa Shepherd, participated in a runway show for HELLO! Magazine Canada (shot by photographer Patrick Anderson) and been on the cover of 69 Magazine.
Luissa Burton’s first big break was shooting with fashion legend Zandra Rhodes’ A/W look book collection in 2009. She has since then fronted several big campaigns and now has a total of 4 magazine covers under her belt and is aiming for more, with her image being featured on PUKKA Magazine and on the cover of an American publication titled Undiscovered Beauty.
More recently, Luissa has secured several more campaigns. Her latest being the face of Lola Rose, one of the most celebrated British brands with customers ranging from the royal family to Madonna. Designer/CEO Nikki Gewirtz (who has an MBE for design) hand selected Luissa to be the face. The images will be found in several big department stores such as John Lewis and Harvey Nichols, as well as in NEXT and Monsoon shops.
She is also one of the faces of Dan Robert’s supermodel workout- Methodology X. Dan Roberts is known as the person trainer to the stars with Hollywood A list clients and some of the world’s biggest supermodels. Having been chosen for her athleticism and passion for fitness she features in the workout alongside other top models. The Methodology X workout has been featured in Vogue and will appear advertised at the upcoming 2016 New York fashion week.
At the end of 2014, Luissa appeared in a campaign for Sony Music: Clubbing 2015. In 2011, Luissa had her TV debut on Saturday night prime time, ITV1′s Take Me Out. Hosted by Paddy McGuinness, she was on the show for five weeks before jetting off to the Isle of Fernando’s with model, Ryan Mackins. Later, ZOO magazine, handpicked Luissa as one of the Take Me Out girls to feature as a centerfold model. She was also interviewed by BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester before and after the date.
She went on to win her first pageant, Miss Worcestershire and was fast-tracked to the final of the Miss England competition, placing top 10 in the sports round and talent round. Before long, Luissa won 6 titles which were awarded to her, some national and some international for modelling competitions and pageants. She attended the Miss Globe 2012 modelling competition in Albania with only 24 hours notice after being awarded with the title Miss Globe England 2012. Here, she represented England and placed 6th overall internationally.
She also competed at the international modelling competition, Miss Model of the World in China (2012). She was awarded by the organisation with the title Miss Model of Great Britain 2012 and as Great Britain’s representative she placed in the top 35 models.
In 2013 she placed as 1st runner-up (2nd place) at Miss Earth UK beauty pageant, acquiring the title of Miss Air. At Miss Earth UK she was awarded the ‘Most Photographic’ award, this was decided by a panel of judges who decided Luissa was the most photogenic after viewing all the girls modelling portfolios. This was a prestigious award to win at a national competition. More recently she has returned from Nigeria, representing Great Britain at Exquisite Face of the Universe modelling competition (December 2013).
In August 2015 she competed in Miss Earth UK once more where she placed 2nd once more winning the title of Miss Earth. In the same evening Luissa also won the nationwide modelling competition – Face of the World England 2015. She was also given an award for the best runway walk 2015.
Currently she is the biggest front runner for the crown of Miss Earth 2016, and as of now there is no strong contender who can give Luissa Burton a nerve wrecking fight at Miss Earth. England has never won Miss Earth crown but this year it seems there is no denying in crowning England as the just titleholder of Miss Earth 2016. What do you think of her chances at Miss Earth 2016?
