Caroline Carter Crowned Miss New Hampshire 2016
Caroline Carter was crowned as Miss New Hampshire on April 30, 2016 at the Stockbridge Theatre on the campus of Pinkerton Academy in Derry. At the 70th edition of Miss New Hampshire, Lauren Percy was titled as first runner-up, Katie Smith was adjudged as second runner-up, Mariah Larocque was declared as third runner-up and Kendra Masso-Glidden was announced as fourth runner-up.
Caroline Carter succeeds Holly Blanchard and will be representing New Hampshire at Miss America 2017 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Sunday, September 11, 2016, hoping to be crowned by the reigning Miss America, Betty Cantrell from Georgia. As the prize money, Caroline Carter wins a $15,000 scholarship. Caroline will also work as an advocate for the Stop Diabetes campaign.
Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program grants more scholarships than most of the other states in the Miss America Program.
The 2017 Miss America will be broadcast by ABC in the United States, the first in the network’s newest agreement to carry the pageant until 2019, with Dick Clark Productions producing the ceremony.
