Mexico Bids Adieu to Miss World 2016
After series of participations, outstanding performances and uphill struggle, Nuestra Belleza México has decided to withdraw its participation from Miss World 2016 pageant. The issue was officially disclosed by the Nuestra Belleza México organization in a press release, the copy of which was also posted on the official social media handle of the organization.
The press release statement said: “In response to questions about the participation of Nuestra Belleza Mexico in Miss World, we inform you that our company Televisa decided not to continue with the license of this contest, so this year the organization will not be sent to a Mexican representative to that international competition. We appreciate an excellent working relationship with this organization for the past 21 years, during which our representatives had great opportunities for growth and development both personally and professionally. We hope that in the future we will be able to resume this relationship. Nuestra Belleza Mexico organization.”
The official statement by Nuestra Belleza Mexico can be found here at their official Facebook Handle.
Mexico has been participating at Miss World since 1963 but has never won the Miss World crown yet. Despite of not winning the crown, Mexico has a decent record at the pageant. Mexico came closest to the coveted blue crown twice lately when it was adjudged as the first runner up through Dafne Molina Lona in Miss World 2005 and Perla Beltrán Acosta in Miss World 2009.
However, failing to achieve the Miss World crown despite of wonderful performances have led Nuestra Belleza México to withdraw its participation from Miss World pageant. Nevertheless, the statement adding, “We hope that in the future we will be able to resume this relationship,” suggests that Mexico might return to Miss World pageant in future.
What is your take on the entire matter? Do you think Miss World organization has been very harsh to Mexico, which led to its withdrawal from the pageant?
