Miss World Guyana 2016 Kicks Off With Sashing Ceremony

Miss World Guyana is slated to take place in the capital city of Guyana, Georgetown on 27th May 2016, wherein Lisa Punch will be crowning her successor for Miss World 2016. This year ten finalists across the Guyana are battling against each other to win the coveted crown of Miss World Guyana 2016. The Miss World Guyana 2016 pageant finally kicked off today.

Miss World Guyana Organization today carried out a sashing ceremony, whereby every contestant was presented with their respective sashes. Have a look at the pictures of the official sashing ceremony at Miss World Guyana 2016.

The Miss World Guyana 2016 pageant will continue for a month and the contestants will be assessed on the basis of various fastrack events in accordance with the Miss World pageant. On April 30, 2016 the contestants will undergo the Glamshot Photoshoot, followed by an Image Series Workshop, Empowerment Forum and Fitness & Sports Competition. The Personal Interview Competition will be held on May 13, 2016, followed by Talent Round and Top Model Round on May 15, 2016 and May 19, 2016 respectively. The “Beauty with a Purpose” presentation will be the last and most decisive stage before the coronation night, which is slated to take place on May 23, 2016.

Last year, Lisa Punch was crowned as Miss World Guyana 2015 and she represented Guyana at Miss World 2015 with ultimate pride at the grand finale held on 19th December 2015 in Sanya, China, where she placed as a Top 10 finalist. In addition, Lisa Punch was also honored with the titles of Miss World Talent, Top 10 Beauty with a Purpose and Top 5 Multimedia. To fill in the shoes of Lisa Punch would certainly be a great responsibility for the new Miss World Guyana 2016.
