Congratulations, Sanjana for winning the wild card entry of Femina Miss India 2016. How does it feel to be addressed as a finalist of Femina Miss India 2016?
Thank you so much! I feel ecstatic! This is what I’ve been working for from past three months and my hard work has finally paid off. This has only motivated me to work harder and win that coveted crown.
How are you preparing for this nerve wrecking pageant? What are your prime agendas?
I’m working on every little thing, from taking care of my fitness, skin, giving my best in shoots, the sub contests, maintaining a positive mindset etc. My prime agenda is so feel beautiful from within, be self confident and to give in my all in everything I work on during the Miss India training.
What will your “Beauty with a Purpose” project reflect? Have you started working over it?
Being a huge believer of leading a stress free life, I have a passion for yoga and meditation. My beauty with a purpose’s main focus is on that.
You also won the second runner up position at Femina Miss India Bangalore 2016. How was the entire experience of the state pageant? Any behind the scenes moments you would like to share with us?
The Bangalore sub contest was a blessing because I got a very clear idea of what was to come in the main pageant. I got to recognize my strengths and flaws in those four days of training. And it was so lovely to work with the Miss India team. Behind the scenes were hectic and honestly, super fun.
Miss World presently has variety of assessment levels, from Sports to Talent, to Top Model and Multimedia. What do you think is your forte and how are you preparing yourself to reach the expertise level of all these challenging rounds?
Being an outgoing, happy go lucky person and a professional model, my forte would be that of a Top Model and Multimedia. I haven’t been into sports as much but I’m a fitness freak. So that would help me. And about the talent, I love dancing. And I’m working on them so I get better!
Who do you think will be your strongest competitor for the Femina Miss India 2016 crown?
My co-contestants are so beautiful and talented. I’m sure this is going to be challenging. But honestly, when I want to achieve something, I only think of getting better at what I’m doing. So my focus lies on improving myself.
If given a chance to represent India at an international platform, how would you showcase the beauty of India?
I immensely take pride in the Indian culture. Be it the rainbow of costumes, the ancient Vedas, the culture of yoga that originated from here and so many other things. I would showcase the beauty of my country through the national costume, my beauty with a purpose project, the talent round and through many more ways.
Who is your ideal beauty queen and how has she inspired you to evolve as a beauty queen?
I’ve seen so many stunning beauty queens do so well even after the pageant. Of all the stunners, Aishwarya Rai, to me is my inspiration. She is an epitome of a true Indian beauty. Her philanthropic activities, her career, everything is so inspiring. She has made India proud. Not just at the Miss World pageant but also after that!
What message would you like to give to The Kaleidoscope of Pageantry and your fans reading this interview?
It was lovely connecting with you. Felt so good on seeing you mentioning me on your page, The Kaleidoscope of Pageantry. THANK YOU! And to everyone aspiring to be a beauty queen, all I have to say is, be happy and feel beautiful from within. Self Confidence and every other quality required to be a beauty queen will follow, once you feel beautiful! ♥
