Pia Wurtzbach Attends GMHC Meeting to Spread HIV/AIDS Awareness in LGBT Community
The reigning Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach is now back to her philanthropic deeds and responsibilities as Miss Universe 2015. On 24th February 2016, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach met with the team of GMHC as she planned formerly. In the integral meeting, Pia discussed the agendas, goals and measures GMHC team can take in order to prevent HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community.
After the meeting, the very optimistic Filipino beauty, Pia Wurtzbach expressed on her official social media handle: “I had my first meeting with GMHC today and am looking forward to supporting the great work they do to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community. I’m proud to be an advocate for this worthwhile and empowering cause.”
Similarly, the GMHC organization was extremely grateful to receive Miss Universe 2015 amongst them and paid gratitude to Pia through their social media handle saying: “Our thanks to @MissUniverse Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach who visited us to learn about our services & issues of HIV & AIDS.”
HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and advocacy organization GMHC also narrated that Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach visited their New York City offices to learn about the organization’s services and the issues involved in HIV/AIDS.
Pia Wurtzbach had made HIV-AIDS advocacy one of her missions as Miss Universe. She had also earlier announced that she would get publicly tested in New York with the aim of decreasing the stigma about the HIV and AIDS.
During the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, Pia Wurtzbach in her final answer opined that she will deal with the grave issues like HIV and AIDS if she is given a chance to become Miss Universe, now that she has been adorned with world’s most prestigious title, she has been seen fulfilling and accomplishing all her promises and responsibilities.
This is not the first time when Miss Universe organization is paying heed to HIV/AIDS but the way Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is handling her responsibilities is certainly commendable.
