Lena Bröder Crowned Miss Earth Germany 2016
Lena Bröder from Nordwalde, Münster was crowned as Miss Germany 2016 by the outgoing queen Olga Hoffman on the scintillating coronation night held on Saturday, 20th February 2016 at Europa-Park in Rust. Miss Schleswig-Holstein, Francesca Orru was adjudged as first runner up and Miss Hesse, Katharina Schubert was titled as second runner up.
24 contestants competed in a nerve wrecking competition to win the coveted title of Miss Germany 2016. Over 200 media houses were present during the grand finale. Lena Bröder was overwhelmed after winning the prestigious title as her six years old dream came true. She ecstatically added that she would represent Germany with charm and beauty.
Comprising the venerable jury panel were Wolfgang Bosbach (CDU), the actor Jan Hartmann and Tina Ruland, the singing duo Alexandra and Anita Hofmann, the presenter Tanja, Prof. Dr. Werner Mang, the actor and lawyer Ingo Lenßen, entertainer Rolf Scheider, producer and composer Ralph Siegel, the Musical-singer Anna Hofbauer and Model Natascha Ochsenknecht.
Autogalerie Schlickel presented the winner with a Jaguar XE along with 98 diamonds studded watch, worth of € 8600. Lena also received a bag set from the Collection Miss Germany, a TW Steel watch, a selection of designer clothes from AnnAngelex, and a travel trip from ALDIANA Andalusia.
Miss Germany 2016 was the 14th edition. The highlights of the coronation eve were the musical performances of Anna Hofbauer, Johnny Logan, Belinda Davids and the dancing number by DDC Breakdancer.
The newly crowned beauty queen stands 1.75 m tall. Lena is currently a teacher of Home Economics in North Rhine Westfalia and firmly believes in the Catholic religion. While talking to the paparazzi Lena added: “It’s a dream come true. For six years I have fought to bring this item. It’s an indescribable feeling to have finally made it. I think I am a model for young girls, even when the going is not so good… I have proven that I am a fighter and ambition is worth its while.” When asked about her profession, the blue-eyed Bröder told the audience, “I teach Germany’s future.” Lena is the first teacher to win Miss Germany in the 89 years of history.
The contestants were judged on the presentation of evening gowns and swimsuits. The finale’s telecast was shown live at BILD streaming.
